The Lucky Dollar Poker TournamentPoker Room is running a poker tournament called The Lucky Dollar; it is multi-table kind of poker tournament. It is held everyday at 4:00pm EST except on Saturdays when it starts at 3:00pm EST. During Saturdays the prize money is added by an amount of $2,500. They are giving out total prize money of $4,500, this is if all the 200 places are occupied, usually during Saturdays the 200 places are full quickly. If you want to win money at The Lucky Dollar poker tournament, you must adopt one playing style. Your best bet is to play a Tight-Aggressive style of poker. At the moment, throw away all your preconceived ideas and everything that you have learned before. What is Tight-Aggressive? The tight means that you will play only the Big Hands and then the aggressive means, if you land on the big hand you ought to bet on it strongly. Let everybody from the table call and raise with each other with the Jack, Queen 6 or 8, while all you have to do is sit back, wait for the big hand and bet strong. In the beginning you will find it boring because you are not too involved with the heat of the game just like your used to do, but you must sacrifice and it is the right thing to do if you want to reach the big money stage. With this kind of tournament nothing works systematically like doing the tight-aggressive style of poker. At an early stage of the poker tournament play only the following hands: JJ, AA, QQ, KK, KJ, 10,10, KQ, AK, A10, AQ and AJ. If you have different hands not like the ones mentioned above you can flop or see first if you can check or fold if not hit triples. With 8, 9, 10, QJ and J10 if they have suited connectors if you see to call the flop and you can do check or fold but not if you want to hit a flush draw or straight. If you have a big hands do not play it slow but not if you land on an absolutely nuts, often times the river can beat the big hand and you can encounter someone who will call big raise with the 9 and 4 that landed on a full house. You should push your opponents out of the pot if you have a big hand so I suggest that you bet big too. Basically, your aim is to stay at the tournament until the final table and get rid of other players as well. If you follow these simple tips you can surely win big at The Lucky Dollar Tournament. |
